Officials in Degel Hatorah deny the rumor that party officials plan to advance MK Yaakov Asher to the second Degel slot on the faction lineup and move Uri Maklev to the third slot. This is due to fears that Yahadut Hatorah will not receive a seventh slot due to the Bnei Torah party insisting on running independently in the elections.
Degel would prefer seeing Asher serving as a sure thing in place of veteran Maklev, however Degel officials insist there is no truth to the rumor.

Bnei Torah can not garnish enough votes to pass the threshold – therefore all votes will be lost.
Do they realize that any splits will result in a signficant reduction in hareidi representation in the next kenesset, and perhaps radically so due to the new four-seat minimum, and that any hareidi reduction will be seen by the hilonim as proof that the “war on hareidim” policies are working as planned and should be expanded (e.g. no exemption from conscription for yeshiva students or hareidi women, compulsory attendance at secular schools, taxing foreign contribution to hareidi institutions, etc.)
this is why frum people should not be in the dirty business of the knesset, it increases the wrath of the hilonim.
