Outing IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz announced on Wednesday, 2 Teves that plans continue to move most of the military’s bases to the new Negev city that will house IDF bases and personnel. The major plan involves bringing tens of thousands of military personnel to the Negev, a move that will free up valuable real estate in areas of the center of the country.

Gantz added that plans are also being discussed to move the “Kirya” Defense Ministry from Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv to Yerushalayim. A final decision is pending. Gantz added that he feels all national agencies should be based in the capital.
