Israel: Unemployment Down in November 2014


unemThe Central Bureau of Statistics reports a decline in unemployment in November 2014 to 5.6 from 5.7%. In numbers this refers to 215,000 unemployed, a decline of 3,800 people.

Government unemployment officers that assist Israelis in finding employment report the trend has been positive since the end of Operation Protective Edge in the summer, the IDF’s counter-terrorism offensive in Gaza. Officials proudly add that unemployment in Israel today is among the lowest among OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) nations.

Unemployment among men declined by 5.6% in November as compared to 5.7% in October. Regarding women, the figure remains at a steady 5.7%.
