It is a difficult Thursday morning (26 Kislev) for residents of the chareidi cities of Betar Illit and Modi’in Illit as the Kavim Bus Company that provides transportation to those communities launched a strike.
Hundreds of drivers did not report to work today in various branches of the bus company as they are protesting the planned firing of some employees. For the drivers who did report, striking drivers blocked their way and only after police intervened were those buses able to continue.
The company is doing its best to provide minimum service but for residents of the frum cities who rely heavily on public transportation, they are by and large stranded.
The strike began at 4:30AM and is expected to continue until the start of service on erev Shabbos morning.

Yes. The Beitar branch is called Illit and the rest of them are called Kavim. The company name is Kavim-Illit.
