Popular correspondent on Arab affairs Tzvi Yechezkeli of the Channel 10 News team has turned down an offer to join the Shas party. Yechezkel is shomer Shabbos and has reported he follows the derech of Rav Nachman of Breslov. He is well liked and followed and Shas feels he would attract many traditional and non-chareidi voters to the party.

Despite the fact he was promised a ‘realistic’ position on the lineup it appears he is not willing to leave his journalism career to enter the Knesset. According to the Yediot Achronot report, Yechezkeli told Shas officials he simply is not interested in entering politics.
