Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon on Tuesday 17 Kislev spoke with students of the Makor Chaim Yeshiva in what was called a ‘closed conversation’. A number of students recorded the senior minister’s words and one of the recordings made its way to Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), given to a correspondent who is a graduate from the yeshiva. One can only assume that a senior minister is aware that students will be students and his words would ‘leak out’. It would appear he used the opportunity to release his message ahead of elections, using this forum as the vehicle to air his words.
Ya’alon explained that he wishes to give his necessary approval for additional construction but this would result in an American response and threats. This is why he is being cautious and is not “pulling the rope too tightly”.
“I hope this is only temporary for now there is a certain government in the United State that is pushing this policy. This government will not remain forever and I hope it is temporary” the defense minister stated.
He added “Due to the complicated political situation the matter of construction demands caution. Announcements of construction, even in Yerushalayim, will result in a response from different elements including our friends that attack us. So we are extremely cautious. Even ministers in other parties including Bayit Yehudi, who really want construction, realize this is necessary”.
He explains that during the freeze new tenders were announced and some permits given for existing tenders, which were approved, and as a result, the yishuvim have grown. He cited the yishuvim in the past year expanded by 20,000 residents, unprecedented in any other area of the nation.
Persons close to the senior minister responded with the following statement. “With unprecedented in depth security relations between security agencies of Israel and United States there are some differences between the two countries on various subjects. This does not diminish our appreciation for the US contribution and the American administration towards the security of Israel and the United States is the greatest friend of Israel rests on its strategic support”.

Ya’alon, you can accuse Obama, Kerry and Frosty The Snowman but till you display you have the manhood to stand up to the US President, he’s going to try to step all over Israel till Janaury 2015. When January 2015 enters, this Muslim President will be knocking heads not just with the House but with Congress too. The Supreme Court will be pulled into all matters.
