Hearing rumors that he promised the defense portfolio in the next coalition to Naftali Bennett, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon confronted Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to determine what is taking place.
According to the Channel 2 News report, Defense Minister Ya’alon invited himself to the Prime Minister’s Office to hear if the rumors are credible. The prime minister denied the accuracy of the rumors, stating he did not promise the defense portfolio to anyone.
That said, Mr. Netanyahu refused to commit to Ya’alon regarding his continuing in the post following elections. “Even my slot as prime minister is still not guaranteed” he is quoted telling Ya’alon.
One should bear in mind that of late, Bennett and Netanyahu have been moving closer together. At the Saban Conference in the UA,
