12:00: The assailant has died of his injuries in Kings County Hospital. He was shot by police who entered the building in response to calls for help.

10:27: When police entered the building they instructed the assailant to drop the knife. He lunged at police and was shot once in the torso. He and the victim were transported to Kings County Hospital.

The policeman who fired his weapon was taken to Methodist Hospital.

09:46: B’chasdei Hashem it is now reported the victim is NOT in serious condition and an uncle spoke with him and he is conscious and alert. The family has been notified.

NYPD closed down the street and police are investigating the attack.

09:28: It has been learned that a lone black male entered 770 at about 02:00 and attacked the bochur, an Israeli in his “Kvutza” studies in 700. The victim was injured in his head/neck and abdomen and is reported in serious condition. Other talmidim ran outside and called police, who responded immediately and neutralized the attacker.

The tzibur is urged to be mispallel for Levi Yitzchak ben Raizel, who is in need of tefilos.

According to the preliminary information received from Crown Heights, NYC, a black male entered 770 and attacked a bochur with a knife, wounding him in his head. Police ran inside the building and fired a single bullet, striking the assailant who was transported to a local hospital under arrest.

It appears the wounded bochur is Israeli, a resident of Betar Illit. His condition is not immediately known.
