According to Jewish community leaders in Argentina, about 12 kevarim were targeted in an apparent hate crime in that country. Reports states that matzeivos were smashed and uprooted in an attack that occurred over the weekend in the city of Santiago del Estero, which is about 1,000km NE of Argentina. Local police have launched an investigation.

This was not the first attack against a Jewish cemetery in South America unfortunately.
