New York City’s buildings department says builders, contractors and property owners should secure structures in preparation for high winds.
Winds are forecast for up to 35 mph with gusts between 55 and 60 mph through Tuesday afternoon.
Precautions include tying down anything that might blow away — and securing netting, scaffolding and sidewalk sheds.
The department will continue performing spot-check inspections of construction sites around the city.
If they’re not properly secured, violations and stop-work orders could be issued.
