idfIDF military police are launching an investigation into the deaths of approximately 50 Gazans, including 4 children during Operation Protective Edge this past summer. The case pertains to the firing of an IDF Shell on July 16, 2014, that resulted in the deaths of the Gazans on a beach, particularly the four children.

An investigation was also launched regarding the deaths of Gazans in a UN facility on July 24, 2014. There are fears some of the soldiers may have acted contrary to regulations.

In its ongoing quest to satisfy the international community, the IDF will be probing other fatalities that occurred during the war as well, including the deaths of two ambulance drivers in Beit Hanoun on July 15th and the July 20th attack against the Abu-Jama family home which resulted in 27 Gaza civilian deaths. Other investigations are taking place as well, including the death of a Gazan carrying a white flag on July 29th.

IDF officials report that to date over 100 complaints have been received and half already probed and handed the IDF Chief Prosecutor for final determination. The latter opened criminal investigations into five of those cases.
