Committee Probing Bridge Traffic Jams to Get Report

chrNew Jersey lawmakers probing politically motivated traffic jams near the George Washington Bridge are set to receive a summary of their investigation.

Assembly Democrat John Wisniewski, who co-chairs the committee handling the investigation, says the panel will receive the report on Thursday and plans to make it public Monday.

Wisniewski says the report does not draw any conclusions. He also tells The Associated Press it points out things the panel doesn’t know because it hasn’t been able to interview all the witnesses.

Documents released earlier this year showed a Port Authority official appointed by Gov. Chris Christie and a Christie aide orchestrated the lane shutdowns apparently as retribution toward Fort Lee’s Democratic mayor.

A report commissioned by Christie cleared him of any wrongdoing.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office is investigating.
