MK (The Movement) Amram Mitzne, a retired IDF major-general concurs regarding the worrisome security situation in Israel today. Mitzne was the IDF Central District Commander to what is referred to as the First Intifada.

He feels the PA (Palestinian Authority) is working to curb terrorism while Hamas continues in its role of promoting terrorism. Mitzne feels some of the steps that need to be taken included increased intelligence, more police manpower and most importantly, changing the atmosphere that exists in Israel today “for it is no secret our actions contribute to today’s reality too and therefore the question is what is our role in the current situation?”

Mitzne feels “the small number of right-wing extremists have done their share to inflame the situation with their insistence on waving the flag on Har Habayis”. He feels his party should have broken from the coalition some time ago, adding “the current coalition makeup is untenable”.
