One of the policy changes being implemented following the massacre of mispallalim at a Har Nof shul is that security guards at the end of their shifts will be able to take their handgun with them. This includes security guards at schools and other locations. To date, they have been compelled to sign the weapon back at work before leaving. The announcement was made following the attack by Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich.
In addition, the Jerusalem Municipality announced it was stepping up security at city schools. The city is working with police and officials decided that all kindergartens that are supposed to have a guard, beginning on Wednesday 26 Marcheshvan, an armed guard will be stationed at those locations.
The appropriate Knesset committees are being inundated with requests from kindergartens and daycare centers that are not entitled to guards. These committees plan to meet in the coming days to address the matter.

Eretz Yisroel, like NYC, NJ, et al, likes its Jews oven-ready. Why else would the means to defend oneself and others against terrorists, thugs, and madmen be illegal?
