Monday 24 Marcheshvan marked the second day of the kenos of chareidi elected officials and askanim hosted in the Nir Etzion hotel. Hundreds of elected local and national chareidi officials are participating in the kenos.
Members of the Monday morning panel included MK Menachem Eliezer Moses, MK David Azoulai and members of local government; Bnei Brak Mayor Avraham Rubinstein, Elad Mayor Yisrael Porush and Yerushalayim Councilman and Deputy Mayor Yitzchak Pindrus.
During the discussion a ruckus erupted when emcee, journalist Avi Rosen of the Shas-affiliated Yom L’Yom newspaper decided to address the in-fighting in Degel Hatorah than led to the Bnei Torah party running independently in some local elections. Rosen was somewhat delicate in posing the question seeking to learn how the split off faction and mother faction work with one another the day following elections. In response, Rubinstein, who is also the secretary of the Degel Hatorah Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael got up and walked out in protest – adding the comment “what insolence” as he headed for the door.
Participants report that Yisrael Porush latter added that the members of Degel Hatorah stand united under the leadership of Maran HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita and that he hopes Agudas Yisrael and Shas will enjoy similar unity. “The machlokes must end” stated Porush.
The discussion continued despite Rubinstein deciding to leave.

they are all babies. The events of the next morning should serve to humble all their “leshem shomayim” egos and make them reconsider what example of behavior Hashem really desires.
How sad. But the four WIDOWS of the men who were massacred put out specifically a request for AHAVAS YISROEL, especially between Jews and groups of Jews, and look what happens immediately after. So so sad. So much fighting between groups under different rabbis, between followers of different Rabbis and different parties and organizations, and the Americans don’t know much about this fighting because they don’t read the Hebrew and Yiddish Chareidi papers and Israeli chareidi Website Kikar Hashabbat.
It reminds me of the frustration I used to feel when learning Navi in Bais Yaakov classes and hearing all the Tochacha and words of warning from Neviim, all the punishments, and then Bnai Yisroel again and again not listening to the admonishemnts of the Navi over and over. The bereaved widows are in mourning and are on a very high spiritual level close to G-d that anyone can have on this earth at this moment, because they have accepted G-d’s decree with grace and faith, and they put out a public request for AHAVAS YISROEL between groups of Jews. That includes not inciting hatred against the State, and not speaking against followers of other Rabbis, and other political groups within Chareidi and Yeshivish society.
I noticed something very disturbing at recent funerals. I noticed that there were very few Straimels attending. Why? And I noticed at the boys funerals, there were also very few of certain groups. Why? WHY can’t all groups of PEOPLE attend each others funerals, then maybe there WON’T BE ANY MORE FUNERALS. When people look around and see that their “enemies” and other groups care and have feelings for them, there can’t be sinas Chinam. This starts from leaders on down.
Explain what was insolent about the question,?
So Rubinstein left. Anyone can be childish. The mark of a real leader is his ability to weather storms and press ahead with his mandate.
When will these pple wakeup? The machlokes by that faction is never ending and dirty.
Well done Rubinstien!!
Bnei Torah are a legitimate group amongst the litivshe sect who do NOT agree with army recruitment!
Just as YOU may listen to Rav Steinman shlita, the Bnei Torah group are legitimately allowed to listen to Rav Shmuel Auerbach shlita!
Dear #3 – LeahLE, please remove those lies from your post – “Israeli chareidi Website Kikar Hashabbat” – kikar shabbos is NOT a chareidi website – the closest they are next to being yidden is chiloni (freier) yidden!
