Beginning in about six weeks, in the beginning of 2015, soldiers entering the IDF for their mandatory service will earn 25% more than today while the IDF will maintain the gap that exists between combat soldiers and others. The former receive additional wages for the risk their face.
A combat soldier in compulsory service today earns 863 shekels monthly. That will increase to 1,100 shekels monthly in 2015. Combat support soldiers today receive 628 shekels monthly and non-combatants today receive 433 shekels. They will also be given the same 25% increase. The increase will cost the military 200 million shekels annually.
