Jewish residents of the Old City of Yerushalayim are outraged over a hate attack involving painting swastikas in the Jewish area of the so-called Muslim Quarter. Dozens of swastikas were painted on the wall at the end of the week. PLO flags were also painted in the area in the area of the Shuvu Banim Yeshiva.
Residents are also angered that it took municipality workers a half a day to arrive on the scene to begin washing away the offensive graffiti.
Jewish residents of the area explain that like elsewhere in the capital, security is deteriorating and police are not doing enough to guarantee the safety of Jewish residents of Yerushalayim.
In other Jerusalem violence, early on Sunday afternoon 23 Marcheshvan, a passenger on a number 3 bus traveling near Herod’s Gate was lightly injured in rock-throwing attack. The victim, the 45-year-old driver, was hit with glass shards and he was transported to Shaare Zedek Hospital.
