Three fire units responded to the blaze that broke out in the yeshiva high school in Yishuv Elkana in Shomron. According to preliminary reports from the scene, two persons sustained serious injuries from electrocution after lightning struck the school building. A blaze resulted.
Winter arrived Sunday morning 24 Marcheshvan and there are local storms in many areas. Police report local flooding in prone areas and the morning rush hour is accompanied with major traffic snarls, including many areas of the Jerusalem – Tel Aviv Highway, Highway One.
In Ashdod a number of people were trapped by flood waters. Five residents had to be rescued on Shoshana Street in Netanya and the electric company had to turn off power to avoid serious damage or chas v’sholom a catastrophe in the area.
Police call on motorists to exercise caution due to the inclement weather conditions.
09:29 IL: In an update on the situation in Elkana, it is reported two Arab construction workers sustained moderate injuries when lightning struck the site where a new high school is being built. Magen David Adom reports the two are males in their 30s, and they were transported to Beilinson Hospital in moderate condition with head injuries.

Electrocution means specifically, and only, death caused by electric shock. These people were injured, and Boruch Hashem not electrocuted. Apologies, but it is upsetting to read that people were killed. There’s enough bad news; this is not so bad, as with G-d’s help they will both recover.
