The State Prosecutor on Wednesday 19 Marcheshvan told the Supreme Court it should reject a motion from MK Danny Danon to file charges of incitement of MK Hanin Zoabi, who equated IDF soldiers with Hitler YM”S and has related to Hamas terrorists as freedom fighters. She accused the IDF of genocide against the people of Gaza. The prosecutor explained to the high court that the petition comes after State Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein already ruled not to file charges against Zoabi.
The prosecution told the court that while Zoabi’s statements are most disturbing at best, and despite their harshness, if one takes into account the time period and circumstances in which they were said, one can understand they do not warrant a criminal indictment.
