A jewelry store was robbed at gunpoint in Midtown Tuesday afternoon, less than a block off the route of the Veterans Day Parade.
Two armed suspects hit the store on West 47th Street off Fifth Avenue just after 2:30 p.m.
It was not clear what they took because the owner opened the safe and ran out. It was also not clear if the suspects remained inside or were able to flee.
No arrests were immediately made.
Police closed West 47th Street as they investigated and evacuated the building and the adjacent building.
Preliminary descriptions of the two are that one was wearing a suit and the other was armed with a big gun.

It bis even more critically urgent for former Mayor Mike Bloomberg to storm up his campaign to eradicate every single gun from the United States of America.
How very descriptive! To any NYC resident, a gun bigger than an esrog is a “big gun”, which automatically (pun intended) turns it into a machine gun. This is journalism at its finest.
Was the victim unzere?
But Bloomberg made a law you can only carry ten bullets. That isn’t going to go very far in a machine gun. We all know how criminals listen to the laws we make.
