Israel: Security/Terror News Briefs Roundup From Tuesday


parMONDAY NIGHT:

· A number 177 bus traveling from Maale Adumim to Jerusalem was attacked with rocks resulting in smashed windows.

· 5 people were arrested in a late night Jerusalem protest in which participants shouted “death to Arabs”.

TUESDAY MORNING:

· The IDF is deploying additional forces in areas of Yehuda and Shomron.

· Israel Police is stepping up its manpower in the southern district.

· Security forces operating in Shechem and Hebron during the night arrested family members of the terrorists responsible for the Tel Aviv and Gush Etzion stabbing attacks.

· IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terrorism operations in Yehuda and Shomron during the night arrested six suspects.

· 5 residents of Bedouin community of Chura arrested on suspicion of rock-throwing and illegal possession of a M-16 automatic weapon.

· Tires of 5 vehicles were slashed in Beit Tzefafa in Yerushalayim. Anti-Arab graffiti was found at the scene.

· Numerous rock-throwing attacks without injuries between Gush Etzion and Kiryat Arba. A number of vehicles were damaged.

· 150 Arabs confronting security forces in the S. Hebron Hills area.

· An Arab who hurled a firebomb at security forces was shot and seriously wounded.

TUESDAY AFTERNOON:

· 22-year-old Muhamad Jawabreh, the Arab terrorist critically wounded by gunfire after hurling a firebomb at IDF soldiers Tuesday morning, died of his injuries.

· Arabs targeted police with fireworks in Jerusalem’s Old City. No injuries. Arrests were made.

· Rock-throwing attack from the Old Chawarah Mosque in Shomron. No injuries.

· The Security Cabinet is convening at 15:00.

· Two Arabs tried to force their way into the Panorama Towers in Haifa. Security guards stopped them. They fled the scene.

· IDF troops targeted with firebombs near Sinjel, in the Gush Shilo area of Shomron. Troops fired at the attacker.

· A motorist was injured lightly in a rock attack in Turan in the Lower Galil region.

· An IDF soldier is lightly wounded in a rock attack in the Hizme area on the northern border of the capital heading to the Shomron.

· Soldier lightly wounded in a confrontation with 50 Arabs in the Ramallah district. Forces used riot-control dispersal.
