A Town Hall meeting organized by Rabbi Aryeh Ralbag of the Young Israel of Avenue K, Joel Schnur of Schnur Associates, Shea Rubenstein of JCC Marine Park and chaired by Joseph B. Stamm,CEO of MedReview provided a platform to address local issues and provide a forum for the Flatbush community to meet various agencies one-on-one, as well as a general Q&A session.
Representatives from the departments of transportation, housing and preservation, sanitation, finance, buildings, environmental protection, parks and recreations, consumer affairs were joined by representatives from a number of nonprofit organizations including Access a ride, COJO Of Flatbush, JASA, Masbia, YI Senior Services, Samaritan Village and Brooklyn Housing Services.
Rabbi Ralbag greeted the standing only room crowd and then Joseph Stamm introduced Councilman Williams recognizing that the Councilman helped pioneer “Participatory budgeting” a concept that takes Town Hall meetings to the next level, “discussion plus agenda to finance and execute”.
It was a very productive evening, and people were able to ask their questions and have an opportunity for follow up.
