The message to the media from Shas to the public is one of unity, as party leader Aryeh Deri continue to stress he wishes to work side-by-side with Eli Yishai.
It is reported that Deri and Yishai met on Tuesday night, the eve of 12 Marcheshvan for what is called a first working meeting as the two seem to be willing to cooperate with one-another. The meeting, which lasted an hour, reportedly focused on closing ranks and ending the infighting that has plagued the party since the petira of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L.
The Deri camp reports the party leader called for the meeting but Yishai supporters’ state it was he who asked to meet with Deri towards responding positively to Deri’s request to work together. The Deri camp reported following the meeting the two agreed to work together in the coming months.

Shas is small enough that they could be devastated if they split. The new “four person” minimum for knesset factions requires “achdus” or quitting politics.
Right – they’ll work together until the next time Deri stabs Yishai in the back.
