Police have been busy trying to restore order during the afternoon hours in the capital following the fatal terror attack. Border Police Chief Inspector Jadan Assad, 38, was killed in the attack which left about a dozen others wounded, some in serious and very serious condition.
In the hours following the attack there has been Arab violence in areas of Yerushalayim as well as in Yehuda and Shomron. There were clashes between security forces and Arabs in Shuafat. At least one firebomb was hurled at border police. Police were compelled to use riot-control adjuncts to restore order, including teargas and rubber-coated bullets.
Violence was also reported at Shar Shechem where rioters set a garbage dumpster ablaze. Border police made a number of arrests at that location.
In the Kedmat Tzion (Abu Dis) area of the capital pipe bombs and firebombs were hurled at Israeli cars. B’chasdei Hashem there are no reports of fatalities or injuries as a result.
In Yehuda, six masked men threw rocks from a construction site in Betar Illit. Police responded and were compelled to fire their weapons in the air to distance the attacks. A search for the six is underway.

Violence reported earlier in the Mt. Scopus area of the capital. Security forces used teargas leading to a number of people heading to the emergency room for treatment.
Serious clashes with Arabs and security forces at the Kalandia Checkpoint on the northern border of the capital. Heavy smoke conditions reported as rioters are setting fires.
