The number of New York City upper-class white singles and lower -income Hispanics are booming while its population of affluent blacks is declining.
That’s according to a report by the Citizens Housing and Planning Council, a group that deals with neighborhood and housing issues.
The Wall Street Journal says the report found that between 2000 and 2010 neighborhoods once dominated by black upper-middle-class residents experienced an 18.9 percent decline.
The number of affluent largely single people grew faster than any other group.
The report creates clusters of population based on race, income and family size. It assigns them to each of the city’s census tracts based on which cluster represents the majority of people in that tract. It compares locations of the clusters to chart neighborhood shifts over time.

this is an unfortunate development.
The black upper-middle-class are some of the most decent family oriented members of society
They have gone on to the suburbs
This is what happens when you enact laws against housing discrimination. Middle class blacks move to the suburbs so they can benefit from governments and schools that are NOT run by the likes of Mr. Sharpton (whose picture had nothing to do with the article). The same problem occured in many professions that attracted educated people whose careers were blocked by discrimination, such as teaching, when over the last generations the people who would have been the best teachers left to become things such as lawyers and bankers.
This is in part due to the fact that black upper middle class people don’t want to live in these crime infested areas perpetrated by the black lower class. So they move out. The blacks have no one to blame but themselves.
