President Barack Obama is asking top congressional leaders from both parties to meet with him after the election.
The White House says Obama invited House and Senate leaders from both parties to a meeting at the White House on Friday afternoon. It’ll be the first chance for both parties to plot a way forward after the dust settles from the midterms.
The results of the midterms will have a profound impact on Obama’s ability to carry out his agenda during his final two years in office. Democrats have been bracing for a potential Republican takeover of the Senate, which would remove the last defense Democrats have against Republican-driven legislation passed by the House.
Republicans have already vowed aggressive efforts to rein Obama in if they win the Senate.

Unfortunately it’s not the “last defense” since this yutz keeps passing “Executive Orders!” What an abuse of power!
The people have spoken and I think Obama is under the microscope now and he knows it. Hopefully. Hillary Clinton will. Not run because she would be a big problem for Israel, just as this one is.
Really? Now you want to meet? Now you are asking for bipartisanship? The Dems led by (lower case) obama have no class and no בושה. While they were in power they ignored and poked fun at the republicans and said things like “we won” and “losing has consequences” but now they want to meet and talk. I say ignore the invitation for now and get back to them when you want the meeting; not when they want it.
