Authorities say they have captured a man accused of killing one Pennsylvania State trooper and seriously injuring another during an ambush outside police barracks.
Police say they have 31-year-old Eric Frein (freen) in custody. The ambush was Sept. 12. The seven-week hunt for him ended Thursday.
Police haven’t released details of the capture.
Authorities have called Frein a survivalist who had a vendetta against law enforcement. They had been pursuing him in the woods and had reported several suspected sightings.
Frein is charged with opening fire outside the Blooming Grove barracks on Sept. 12. Cpl. Bryon Dickson was killed, and Trooper Alex Douglass was critically wounded in the attack.
The gunman slipped away, sparking a massive manhunt.

He looks like a nasty guy, but why do they say he did it?
The word “vendetta” is problematic. War may be more appropriate. The problem is that the criminal justice system is corrupt and always has been. It’s abuses are now coming to a head and they are behaving like criminals that want to be caught. There is ample room to suspect that the cops are using this shooting as a pretext for getting rid of somebody they hate and its worse in Israel. It is not at all clear that the Arabs killed in connection with the shooting of Glick or the 3 Yeshiva students in fact committed those crimes. Once one has seriously tangled with that system, they become wise to their tricks. Most every cop is only fit to be a blue collar worker i.e. a plumber or at best warehouse supervisor. Lawyers, judges, prosecutors, public defenders tend to be over achievers who are either average students or slightly better. They are motivated by status and money. They are skilled at slick answers and even take acting lessons. To put it mildly the clean up ahead is a big one.
And they didn’t even give him time to take off his tefillin!
