On Tuesday, the campaign of R’ Nachman Caller for State Assembly published the names of Gedolei Rabbonim Shlit”a in Brooklyn, who have praised the lifetime community work of R’ Nachman Caller and wished him great success in his bid to represent the members of community, residing in the 48th Assembly District, in Albany.
In separate letters of support, Gedoeli HaTorah in Borough Park and Flatbush have all expressed their appreciation of R’ Nachman Caller’s work letovas haklal, urging community members to support and back R’ Nachman by all means, so he can continue his devoted work on behalf of the community.
The rabbanim who signed the proclamations include HaRav HaGaon R’ Ychezkel Roth Shlit”a, gaavad of Kalsburg, and Chavrei Beth Din Beis Talmud Lhoirua; Harav HaGaon R’ Aharon Schechter, Rosh Yeshivas Reb. Chaim Berlin; HaGaonim Rav Avrohom Yaakov Nelkenbaum and Rav Osher Kalmanowitz Shlit”a, Roshei Yeshivas Mir; and Chavrei Beth Din Tzedek of Tartikov Shlit”a.
“I am humbled and privileged to receive the support of so many Gedolim, whom I have had a relationship with for years, while advocating for community needs,” said State Assembly candidate R’ Nachman Caller. “Following Daas Torah and represent the community’s values and needs will be my guiding principles when elected to represent the community in the State Assembly.”
“The tide has turned. The continued outburst of support will pave the path to victory and bring an historic change for the community on Tuesday, November 4th,” he added.
R’ Nachman Caller is running on the Republican Party line and on the ‘Housing and Jobs’ Party line in the 48th Assembly District, which includes the neighborhoods of Borough Park and Midwood.

Wow you’d think they were looking to vote in who should be Rav or something. This isn’t about who can give a better shiur and can learn better. This is about who can do more for the Klal. And frankly Caller does not have the track record or political connections to get the things done that Hikind can. We have bigger issues than housing. If that’s all Caller has to offer then he’s not gonna get a lot of votes.
Although I disagree with hikind politically I would rather have him then caller
Dov Hikind has always been there for the community; in good times and in tragic times. We trust him because he is sincere and totally dedicated. The other candidate is a johnny come lately, after making his tons of money. Don’t trust Caller.
“Gedoeli HaTorah in Borough Park and Flatbush have all expressed their appreciation”.
Do you mean to tell us that there are only about five gedolim in all of BoroPark & Flatbush?
If N. Caller could only get these few to endorse him how (in)effective will he be in Albany?
Not voting Dov is a slap in his face..
the guy works hard and has dedicated his life for am yisrael…
he could make alot more $$$ working in private sector..
show ur hakaras hatov – vote dov
2000 MORE units seriously ?? I think he should be advocating for 2000 less units
Why is Nachman caller.(sorry Reb.) Getting all this free advertising on ywn.
Moderators Response: Both campaigns are paid advertisers of YWN. Every press release and news item sent by both candidates has been published, and will continue to be published fairly and equally by YWN.
Stop trying to stir a pot that doesn’t exist.
Where can one read the full text of thesr endorsememts. Praising someone who works on behalf on the klsl and giving them a bracha for future success hardly qualified as an endorsement.
Hikinds seems very desperate right now.
Nachman Caller is an amazing individual who knows how to get things done for the community.
research!
Reb Nachmen Caller shlita is the smartest man in the whole world
He is going to solve all our problems
We need him now
Everybody in my family will vote for him
Move aside Dov
Nachmam is waisting Money that t he can be giving to the struggling to help them buy in Brooklyn.
The housing that he is talking about is a joke… Any palliation will explain that it’s just a game that he wants the people to think he can do something to help…..
Based on the claim of both sides on which Rav or Rebbe “endorsed” them, efsher kein min zugen that those who hold of the Eruv should vote for Caller and those who don’t should vote for Hikind.
Maybe he can solve the shidduch crisis too.
This is for everyone to read regardless of your political views. Nachman Caller is just another jewish real estate mogul; his entire political platform is based on an affordable housing BUSINESS plan. A couple of questions you may want to ask yourself;
1. Who is going to be moving into these new buildings out in the docks. Look at all of the other frum real estate investors that have built up massive buildings throughout crown heights and Williamsburg, if anyone out there wants to do some homework, why don’t you see how many more yuppies there are living in these brand new buildings. Caller wants to expand boro park but he will be expanding dumbo/park slope instead.
2. (To me this is the bigger question) Why does Caller need to be in public office to build these complexes?……I’ll save you the trouble of figuring it out…..its the only way he will be able to get the MTA to sell him the building rights.
Before you go and give this BUSINESS man the keys to the community; ask yourself what he can actually do for the community; ask yourself is he willing to do for the community if it won’t be lining his own pockets.
If none of what I have said above has convinced you of his real plan/objective. Maybe watch his video comparing boro park to auschwitz again; that song he plays, yiddishe mameh; I don’t know about you but my yiddishe mameh and babeh would spit in “Rabbi” Nachman Callers face given the opportunity.
On a side note; I have heard from a few sources very close to Dov that he confirmed with many of these gedolei hador that they never endorsed Caller and that they stand behind Dov as long as he is in the running.
