VIDEO: Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat Visits Har Habayis

hha[VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

As police are working to halt daily Arab violence in areas of Yerushalayim, Mayor Nir Barkat on Tuesday morning 4 Marcheshvan visited Har Habayis with the Jerusalem police chief and others, who briefed him on the situation. They mayor, as is the case when other Jews visit as well, was greeted with hackling and offensive shouts from Arabs.

While there is an increased ongoing effort to permit freedom for Jews to daven and visit Har Habayis in Knesset and from NGOs, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon recently made it clear, that there would be no change in the current status quo on the holy site. The defense minister’s remarks were in response to concerns expressed by Jordan’s King Abdullah who spoke out against what he calls “Zionist extremism”, which he compared to ISIS.

Despite this new wave of Har Habayis awareness, Gedolei Yisrael Shlita and the Chief Rabbinate continue to prohibit visiting Har Habayis.

  1. Yes, our esteemed Defense Minister – the one that keeps on hacking about ‘kochi v’otzem yodi’. You’re afraid of what Jordan’s king has to say about Jews.
If it was a bus that didn’t let women on – what would your ‘democratic’ mouth say?
Correct Moshe Dayan’s mistake. Just close up the Har HaBayis to all, once and for all.
