MK (Bayit Yehudi) Yoni Chetboun was menachem aveil to the family of terror victim Chaya Zisel Braun HY”D, who was killed in the Ammunition Hill Jerusalem light rail station attack last week. Chetboun made his visit on erev Shabbos Parshas Noach.
The pained young father turned to Chetboun and shared his last moments of his daughter’s life. “I pointed out the Har Habayis to Chaya Zisel explaining this is where Avraham was ready to sacrifice Yitzchok Avinu. A willingness to be moser nefesh for Kiddush Hashem. And I also was moser my only daughter”.
Near the end of the visit the father, Rav Shmuel Elimelech Braun showed Chetboun a photo in which his daughter was on his lap as he learns Torah. “I ask you please do not disregard lomdei Torah but safeguard them”.
Chetboun responded “דברים שיצאו מן הלב, נכנסו אל הלב and I will use all of my koach to increase the budget for yeshivos and to be mechazeik their status”.
