A month ago it was reported by Kippa that the beis medrash of the Ohd Yosef Chai Yeshiva in Yishuv Yitzhar was converted into a workout room for border police stationed in that community. The doors of the beis medrash were broken open to permit access to convert the area to an exercise facility.

Yishuv officials turned to Honenu attorney Avi Kedar to intercede, pained by the reality of the actions of border police officials. As a result of Kedar’s intervention, the equipment was removed from the beis medrash a number of days ago. Officials in Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon’s office responded to Kedar and explained that in response to the letter from Kedar and others, the decision was made to remove the equipment.
