HaGaon HaRav David Batzri Shlita, 73, sustained a head injury on Simchas Torah night as a result of falling on the street and striking a metallic object on the ground. The incident occurred on Brandeis Street at the rav headed to his beis medrash in the Makor Baruch neighborhood of Yerushalayim. Rav Batzri is considered a leading Mekubal of the generation and Rosh Yeshivas HaShalom.
Ichud Hatzalah EMT Yechiel Miller was davening in a nearby and he was summoned. The rav walked to a nearby Terem clinic where he required close to 30 stiches to close the wound. He then continued with yomtov. He agreed to be checked out in a local hospital on motzei Simchas Torah.
