Prosecutors are urging a federal judge to impose a five-year prison term on a Connecticut man recorded discussing attacks on a federal building and Harvard University with a radio-controlled plane fitted with explosives.

The Connecticut Post reports that Assistant U.S. Attorney Krishna Patel is seeking the maximum sentence for perjury against El Mehdi Semlali Fathi, a Moroccan national who lived in Bridgeport, Connecticut, until his arrest in April.

Fathi pleaded guilty to perjury, which stemmed from lying to a U.S. immigration judge while seeking refuge in America and claiming he was persecuted in Morocco for his political beliefs.

Fathi’s lawyer, public defender Paul Thomas, has asked Hall to impose a prison term of 15 to 21 months at sentencing Oct. 20.

The FBI says it recorded Fathi discussing the attacks and training.
