A poll commissioned by the Knesset Channel shows that the tzibur prefers Eli Yishai over Shas party leader Aryeh Deri and that the latter is not viewed as trustworthy. Respondents were asked if they believe Deri when he says he wants Eli Yishai at his side, taking an active role in running the party. 44% feel Deri is not being truthful while 28% believe him.

According to the poll, Shas headed by Eli Yishai received eight seats in Knesset, two more than with Deri at the helm.
