After Arabs hurled rocks at a Jerusalem Old City yeshiva complex, a student went up on the roof to photograph the damage. That student was detained by police for questioning.
On Sunday 11 Tishrei towards evening, Arabs hurled rocks at a yeshiva in Jerusalem’s Old City. Police were summoned and when they arrived, they too were targeted with rocks. One Arab was detained by police.
A talmid yeshiva, 18, went onto the roof to take photos of the damage caused in the attack. A policeman arrived and told the talmid that he was being detained for questioning.
An attorney from Honenu was called to represent the talmid, who was released by police at 01:00 in the morning. Attorney Adi Kedar stated “Once again we are witness to the victim turning into the suspect. This policy of police repeats itself in many cases. The security of Jews in the Old City is deteriorating from day to day and to our sorrow, Jerusalem Police are not doing enough to prevent this. In addition, the conduct of police encourages terror instead of acting as a deterrence”.
