For the first time in a number of years, hundreds of Gaza residents on Sunday morning 11 Tishrei left Gaza for Har Habayis. About 500 Gazans received permits from Israeli authorities permitting them to pray on Har Habayis during the Muslim Feast of the Sacrifice holiday. Hundreds of PA (Palestinian Authority) residents from Yehuda and Shomron were also given permits to visit Har Habayis on Sunday and Monday.
It is reported that recipients of the permits, both from Yehuda & Shomron and Gaza are 60-years-old or older, a population far less likely to be involved in terrorism. The last time Gaza residents were permitted to visit Har Habayis was in 2007.
