Jet Flier Dons Protective Gear In Airport Protest; Says CDC Is Lying About Ebola

As health officials monitor a Texas patient sickened by Ebola, a Missouri man donned full protective gear at Atlanta’s airport to protest the government’s response to the outbreak.

Dr. Gil Mobley on Thursday cleared airport security wearing a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a hooded white jumpsuit. Emblazoned on the back of his protective suit: “CDC is lying!”

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Mobley is a microbiologist and emergency trauma physician from Springfield, Missouri.

Mobley said the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is “sugar-coating” the risk of the virus spreading in the United States.

Mobley said international passengers arriving in the U.S. aren’t being adequately screened.

Health officials have said airports in Africa, Europe and the U.S. are taking all necessary precautions to prevent spread of the virus.
