BREAKING: White House: New Construction In East Jerusalem Would Distance Israel From ‘Closest Allies’

ejThe White House says that if Israel were to move forward with a controversial housing development in east Jerusalem, it would distance Israel from, quote, “even its closest allies.”

The sharp criticism came just hours after President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at the White House. The two leaders did not mention the new construction project during their remarks to reporters.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest says that the 2,500-unit project would only draw “condemnation” from the international community. He says it would also call into question Israel’s commitment to peaceful negotiations with Palestinians.

The new project is contentious because it would complete a band of Jewish areas that separate Jerusalem from nearby Bethlehem.

  1. “He says it would also call into question Israel’s commitment to peaceful negotiations with Palestinians”

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Really?
Hey Mr. Earnest, I guess you must of been asleep when your friend Mr. Abbas gave his lovely speech at the UN. When your boss stops slaughtering innocent Muslim Freedom fighters in Syria & Iraq, we’ll sit down and talk.

  2. This is another example of “peace process” lies. Bais Lechem is SOUTH of Yerushalayim, and is not East Jerusalem at all, as far as I can tell on the map.

  3. Why does Israel talk about it? Why do they even call attention to it! It’s their sovereign land and the world should not be notified! When they condemn arab attacks on Har Hazeisim or stones being thrown at innocent civilians – who’s talking about Gazan rockets – then they could concern themselves about Israeli construction! Such an obama-nation!
