New York City’s No. 7 subway extension to the far West Side could be open to riders in February.
The Daily News says the MTA and the general contractor have signed a pact that includes up to $4.75 million in incentive payments if the project is finished by Feb. 24.
The extension of No. 7 west from its current terminus at Times Square-42n Street will create a new station at 34th Street and 11th Avenue.
The MTA’s capital construction division president tells the News the station will be very airy and modern. Michael Horodniceanu says riders will be impressed.0
The $2.4 billion project had originally been scheduled to open last December. The opening has been delayed since several more times.
