Iran continues to develop its weapons systems as it strives to create new facts on the ground by increasing its military capabilities. According to a Fars News Agency report, Tehrans latest addition to its arsenal is the Ya Ali missile which can be fired as a surface to air missile or from fighter planes in flight. The Ya Ali has a maximum range of 700km (435 miles).
According to the Fars report, Iran claims to be the worlds sixth missile power and according to many, the announcement of the Ya Ali is a clear warning to the US and Israel regarding any planned attack against Tehrans nuclear program.
