With Hamas and the PA (Palestinian Authority) in Ramallah signaling unity, Hamas has agreed in principle to permit 3,000 police operating under Fatah’s command into Gaza. These troops are expected to take up position along the border and crossing points.

It is pointed out that the sides have agreed in principle only and it remains to be seen when the policemen will take up position if at all.
