In a letter sent to the organization’s employees and volunteers, Rabbi Yosef Cohen, CEO of Chasdei Naomi on Monday 27 Elul explained the need to shift to emergency mode. He explained the dire situation – the need to increase funds by 50% to meet the unprecedented demand for assistance. Rav Cohen explains the situation is the result of difficult economic times, and for many, their parnasa fell to pieces during Operation Protective Edge.

He explains the organization’s storage facilities will be working around-the-clock up until Rosh Hashanah to do as much good for as many people as possible. Rav Cohen laments that as the calls for assistance continue to grow Chasdei Naomi is no longer able to meet the needs of everyone turning to the organization for assistance.
