A pre-Rosh Hashanah kenos was held in the Netivot Yisrael Yeshiva in Bat Yam, attended by Kiryat Arba Chief Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Dov Lior Shlita. In his words of hisorarus to the participants, the rav opted to hint at the Stern Giyur Bill, speaking of “the legislative attack against Toras Yisrael and the Chief Rabbinate”.

The rav then spoke of efforts in Israel to legitimize to’eva families with two mothers whom are raising children and the mockery being made of the traditional family unit by those who support such a situation.

The rabbi explained that the Bayit Yehudi party is playing a hand in the giyur, which feels is the party’s willingness to convert anyone who speaks Hebrew and wishes to become Israeli. “This will not be legitimate giyur but a mockery. He wishes to be Israeli and speaks Hebrew so they list him as Jewish”.

The rabbi addressed other legislation which he feels attacks Yiddishkheit, including calls to operate buses on Shabbos and efforts to turn Shabbos into a regular shopping day chas v’sholom. ”I have mentioned two main points and there can be no doubt this is the reason that Am Yisrael is suffering”.
