Following Interior Minister’s Gideon Saar dramatic announcement that he plans to take a break from politics after the yomim tovim, Likud officials are busy trying to determine who will replace him.
It appears the most likely candidate is Communications Minister Gilad Erdan. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was going to approve Erdan to become Israel’s next UN ambassador, but with the announced resignation, it appears he will be taking the powerful cabinet post instead and he will become the next minister of the interior.
