MK Rav Yaakov Litzman continues his visits to Gedolei Yisrael Shlita ahead of Rosh Hashanah. He began with a visit to the Erlau Rebbe Shlita, and on Tuesday 21 Elul he visited with HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita in the Rav’s Shaare Chessed home.

They discussed current event issues, and the rav briefed Litzman on the kenos rabbonim that took place last week in the Tamir Hall addressing the efforts to draft Bnei Torah into the IDF. The rav reiterated his position, that talmidim called to induction centers should not respond, not even to provide basic information such as one’s name and address. Litzman explained that the Moetzas Gedolei Hatorah would be meeting soon and a final decision on the matter would be announced.

The rav thanked Litzman for his cooperation during the past year and he gave him a bracha ahead of Rosh Hashanah.
