Early Monday morning, Shomrim witnessed the male seen in the attached photos breaking into multiple vehicles in the area on Avenue L and East 9th Street. The suspect was observed around 4:00AM, and the NYPD was contacted. Along with the assistance of Shomrim Volunteers, the individual was taken into police custody without further incident.
Shomrim remind everyone: Never leave any valuables visible in your vehicle – since your car will be high-priority for a thief.

L & 9 is about the worst block a thief could have picked in Flatbush if he hoped to not be caught. R’ Landau’s shul has minyanim constantly running for more than 20 hours a day.

Why were the Shomrim volunteers taken into custody?

Thank you for proof reading, what would the world do without you??
#2 is 100% correct. It is apparent from that sentence that the shomrim were arrested as well. Its not a difficult task to word a sentence correctly. Its sheer sloppiness to do itthe way it was done.
Its always obvious when an article is not copied and pasted from the AP or the like. They are living up to their name the yeshiva world news
