A group of approximately thirty chareidi soldiers who served in the 8200 Intelligence Corps unit responded to the letter of the 43 insubordinates, left-wing soldiers and officers of the unit who refuse to comply with orders. They accuse the IDF of violating the rights of PA (Palestinian Authority) residents and have announced their conscience will no longer permit them to serve in the unit and comply with demands for intelligence gathering on PA residents.
The chareidim sent their letter to the chief of military intelligence, the defense minister and IDF chief of staff. They reaffirmed their loyalty and their willingness to serve in place of the insubordinates.
They stress there is no place in the IDF for political statements and as soldiers who served in the unit fully understand the unit’s operations and purpose. They stress their willingness to continue serving in the unit as chareidi soldiers in the IDF.
