Many are asking why Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett was so adamant to push his new constitution through the party leadership forum. After succeeding in his mission he now has broader powers as party leader, powers that include assigning the roster for the Knesset list in Knesset elections.
NRG correspondent Ze’ev Kam reports that prior to the Bayit Yehudi vote, Bennett met with senior party officials in Yerushalayim, those opposed to his new Bayit Yehudi constitution in an effort to persuade them to support it. Some explained that they are not against Bennett receiving expanded powers, but they fear the new reality will result in a split with the members of the Tekuma faction.
Bennett is quoted telling them ultimately that the entire matter focuses around his efforts to push the nation to new Knesset elections after the yomim tovim. Bennett has already admitted in the past that he does view himself as a viable candidate for prime minister one day in the future. Perhaps he feels that day has arrived.

He certaintly does intend that
who else are Bibi’ successors?
Leiberman ?
Too bombastic for the general electorate
Sa’ar?
Decent didactic chap ,but considered unlikely for PM material
Kachlon? popular and sweet,but unqualified
for any serious ministry
Someone waiting in the wings?
So throw away the remaining vestiges of in party democracy (what’s that anyway?)
and hail the new Duce
(goodness.. what was that constantly useful canard about charedi lack of democracy?)
Will Tekuma stand up for jewish people?
This man is Rasha on par with Stalin . Why treat him with respect at all? He should be sidlined at least by the ‘frum’ media.
sorry Bennet but you don’t compare to Bibi
How about Yoni Chetboun for Prime Minister? He showed true leadership when he stood up for his principals and represented the people who voted for him/Party and didn’t fold like a cheap camera when he was threatened. Bennett represents the non frum Mizrachi while Chetboun represents the Frum Bnei Torah of the DL community.
