There are signs that another page in New York City’s history is turning.

The nearly completed One World Trade Center has risen 1,776 feet above ground zero. It will be filled with office workers by this date in 2015.

The sacred site is now more fully integrated with the streets of Manhattan.

Fences around the World Trade Center memorial plaza have come down.

Now thousands of people freely visit every day — from cellphone-toting travelers to workers on their lunch breaks.

Those crowds will swell further when One World Trade Center finally opens next year.
