An exciting and historic initiative is planned for tomorrow, Thursday, September 11th, 2014 (16th of Elul), as Jews around the world are invited and requested to take high-quality photographs of their local Daf Yomi shiurim and email them to a central archive, [email protected], , creating a global portrait of the Jewish people united through the study of the very same daf (folio) of Talmud on the very same day.
These photographic impressions recorded for posterity of Klal Yisrael learning CHAGIGAH Daf Gimmel, will be an extraordinary testament to the oneness and cohesion of the Jewish people, a theme found in tomorrow’s daf.
A beautiful video and book are being planned to display selected images captured tomorrow.
In order for the photographs to be eligible for consideration, they need to be taken ONLY tomorrow, in high-resolution (minimum of 300 dpi), and be of a professional and creative quality. The photos may be of the shiur as a whole, individual members engaged in Talmudic deliberation, or both.
Note: Most smartphones do not have the ability to take high resolution photos suitable for publishing, so KINDLY REMEMBER to take the photographs with a real camera.
Photos should include a brief caption describing the history of that particular shiur, the name and title(s) of the maggid shiur, the location and time of the daily shiur, along with the name of the photographer to be credited. The sending of these images will indicate legal consent on behalf of the visible participants of the shiur to have their photograph(s) included in both print and digital format by the copyright holder of the work.

How $much?
ridiculous!
Is it Adar already?
Love the idea! Can’t wait until it comes out.
Great idea. We’ve learned over 765 (over 28℅ ) blatt since the last siyum and we are darned proud of ourselves.
It’s great being part of such a special concept of a daily daf,
& if people can broadcast this to expand, it would be a great zechus.
